Alexandre Gorchkov was born in Pavlovo, a small town in Russia where, being a high school student, he had started to play in a community theatre. He could only get a passing grade in gym class if he agreed to go to theatre school! He didn’t go and got bad marks! However, he then attended the Moscow Aviation University, and immediately entered the university’s theatre company, FAUST, where he stayed long after graduating from the university.
As a member of the theatre company, he took part in many performances in venues from Eastern Siberia to Western Germany, (mostly in Moscow, including the Kremlin) until his departure to Canada in 2002, making his home in Montreal. Alexandre graduated from the Dawson College theatre program in 2007. Recent stage credits include Touchstone in As You Like It, Minister Czaba in Pentecost and Uncle Pleasant in Orpheus Descending. He has acted as well in few short films.
Currently, Alex is working on his own one-man show, which will be produced next year.
