You! Be the Judge Brings the Real World into the Classroom
Using YOUBE in my ESL class was a truly exciting experience. I was blown away as I watched my students' transformation. They went from passive students to active participants in one lesson.
It’s easy to see why: Unlike the material in many text books, YOUBE brings the real world into the classroom. The situations have actually taken place and the text uses real language, complete with expressions. It was easy for me to choose situations (from the many that are available in the YOUBE package) that my students could relate to.
They quickly saw that there was no such thing as a right or wrong answer and this made them eager to express their opinions. Moreover, their interest in listening to each other was higher than I had ever seen. They willingly agreed or disagreed with each other and wanted to back up their reasons.
In short, YOU! BE THE JUDGE is a great tool for teaching ESL.
